Who we are and why we need to collect your personal information

PSI CRO AG (PSI, we) is a multinational contract research organization located in Baarerstrasse 113a, 6300 Zug, Switzerland. Our professional interest is to help pharmaceutical companies, sponsors, to conduct clinical studies.

We would like to collect, store and use some of your personal information to be able to contact you, assess your eligibility to participate in the studies managed by PSI and consider inviting you to work with us in such studies. For this purpose, PSI will act as the data controller.

We will keep the data that you share with us, including your full name, professional interests, qualification, contact information, and place of your work. We may also be looking for the potential investigators at professional websites, for instance websites of the medical institutions that may post contact information of their staff and department heads. Such resources will normally be public. We may also refer to official commercial professional resources. This allows PSI specialists to get in touch with the potential investigators. PSI would need to do eligibility assessment and record the results of such assessment into our database. This database will not be available outside of PSI.

How do we share your personal data

PSI will keep your information in internal database of potential and current investigators. PSI personnel from the PSI Group companies whose responsibility is identifying and selecting professionals for clinical studies, will have access to this database and your personal data kept there. We may need to share some of your data with study sponsors to help them deciding whether your qualifications match their study requirements. The applicable law may require PSI to disclose some of your data to the auditors and competent regulatory authorities. In this case, we will have to do so.

Sending your personal data abroad

When the parties with whom we need to share your data are located abroad, your personal data will need to be sent or/and accessed from abroad, including to/from countries where the data protection laws may be less strict as compared to your home country. PSI makes reasonable efforts to ensure that these PSI staff and external recipients, regardless of their location, commit to protect your personal information. Such efforts include technical and organizational measures, as well as certain contractual protections to safeguard your data. You can ask PSI to tell you more about these safeguards, including a review of any applicable protective measures.

How long we keep your data

We would like to keep your data while we are looking for a study for you. If you enter in a study with PSI, you will receive a new data processing notice, and will be able to decide on the further data processing authorization you may wish to give to PSI. To make sure that your data are accurate we strive to review our database of healthcare professionals who have expressed interest to work with us. When you inform us of any relevant changes to your personal data, we will be happy to make corrections in our database.

Your rights regarding control of your personal data

We understand that you provide your personal information to PSI upon your free will. You have the right to withdraw your consent to data processing and request erasure of your data at any time after the consent is given. Following your request, we will stop processing your data but we will keep a record of your withdrawal to ensure we do not bother you again. In case by the time of your request you enter into a study managed by PSI, data retention lines pertinent to the study will apply. You can request access to your data, rectification of your personal data, as well as object to some uses of your personal data. You can also request a digital copy of the personal data that you have provided to PSI.

You will be able to execute your rights in accordance with the regulations applicable to the conduct of clinical trials, as well as with the internationally recognized standards of data protection and national data protection laws.

You have the right to lodge a complaint to the competent supervisory authority. You may find a list of the national data protection authorities and their contact details at this link.

By law, PSI needs to ask for your explicit permission to record, store and share your personal information as described in this Notice. Otherwise, the law does not allow us to keep your data, and we will not be able to invite you to participate in our studies.
